To develop imaginative, exciting and poetic new drama. We are not as interested in providing riveting and suspenseful narrative as we are in a gentle reawakening the spirit of enlightenment and exploration. We believe in offering something different from the kind of conventional drama that is focused on conflict. We want to explore in depth the emotional and psychological lives of characters without the trappings of melodrama. Audiences who want action, suspense and conflict can find it in movies. Theatre is not cinema. Plays are not films. We believe that the theatre should be a place of epiphany and transformation. Furthermore, we love language, and we believe it takes more than profanity — it takes a sacred mix of poetry and great acting — to make plays soar.
